Albay, nearby provinces under Signal No. 1 as ‘Carina’ maintains strength
Tropical depression ‘Carina’ has maintained its strength as it puts seven areas under storm signal no. 1, the Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (Pagasa) said Saturday morning.
In its weather bulletin released at 10 a.m. , the state weather bureau said that the tropical depression has maintained its 55 km per hour strength as it’s currently located 175 kilometers east of Catarman, Northern Samar.
Moderate to heavy rainfall are expected within the 300 km diameter of the tropical depression while Signal No. 1 was raised in Albay, Camarines Sur, Catanduanes, and Sorsogon.
Pagasa also raised a yellow rainfall warning in Samar provinces, Northern Aurora, Isabela, and Cagayan which means that landslides and flash floods may happen in these areas.
They also warned the fishermen about the rough seas at the coastal waters of the eastern seaboard of Luzon and Visayas.
Pagasa said that they are expecting Carina to be outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility by Tuesday morning.
